JVI Newsletter ▪ February 2024

Dear Friends of the JVI,

We hope that this first newsletter of 2024 finds you well.

This newsletter reports on four courses recently delivered at the JVI: two new courses from the IMF on Strategic and Practical Considerations in Money Laundering Investigations and on Institutional Sector Accounts-Advanced Level; a World Bank course on Management and Evaluation of Government Guarantees; and a course from the Austrian National Bank (OeNB) on Financial Education. A webinar discussed Legal Aspects of Digital Assets and Services. As reported in past newsletters, the JVI takes climate change issues seriously. Beyond the sharing of knowledge and best practices, the JVI is trying to reduce its own carbon footprint.

We had two high-level visitors in January. Armenian Deputy Finance Minister Hakobyan, a JVI alumnus, met with JVI management. OeNB Governor Holzmann engaged with JVI staff and course participants. Last but not least, please meet Roberta Lowman, who joined the JVI staff last month!

If you have any questions, comments, or feedback of any kind, please write us a note at jvi@jvi.org. Many thanks to Rilind Kabashi, our Editor, Maša Valenko, and all the contributors to this Newsletter.

Hervé Joly
Director, Joint Vienna Institute
