JVI Newsletter ▪ April 2019
In this Newsletter, you will find articles on recent events at the JVI including, among others, a high-level conference on FinTech, a talk by the incoming OeNB Governor Robert Holzmann, a seminar for Members of Parliament on how to fight corruption, and the traditional IMF peer-to-peer workshop on monetary policy for central bankers from the Caucasus and Central Asia, this time joined by colleagues from Moldova and Mongolia. We have some new faces at the JVI, including Mr. Pekka Ruuhonen, an IMF long-term expert on tax issues working on the Western Balkans, Ms. Valeriia Kravets, Front Desk/Program Officer, and Mr. Thomas Hauser, IT Officer. As noted in the January JVI Newsletter, I would like to call your attention to two new courses at the JVI conducted with the European Central Bank: one on the management and resolution of non-performing loans and one on real estate analysis and policies. Please do apply if you find these topics to be of use and interest. Our goal with these Newsletters is to bring together stories and news from the JVI in one place on a quarterly basis. Among other things, we highlight upcoming deadlines for application to JVI courses. We are naturally very interested in feedback on the content of the Newsletter, and on the activities of the JVI more generally. Please do share your views with us at jvi@jvi.org. Thanks are due to contributors, and to Adam Gersl, Simone Schelling, and Christoph Daniel for pulling the Newsletter together. We look forward to seeing many of you here at the JVI during the coming months!  Thomas Richardson, Director
