All courses are scheduled to take place at the JVI. Courses may have to be delivered virtually in case safe travel to and in-person training in Vienna is not possible. The decision to offer virtual instead of onsite training will be made within 5 weeks of the course start date.

TARGET GROUP | Officials involved in the design and implementation of structural reforms, in particular those working in ministries of economy, finance, and labor, and other relevant government agencies, as well as central banks.
DESCRIPTION | This two-week course brings together the expertise of numerous JVI partners, including several international organizations, to discuss structural reforms that are critical to raising productivity, competitiveness, and potential growth. Course objectives are to: (i) present the rationale for implementing structural reforms; (ii) review selected reform areas; (iii) introduce a framework for identifying reform priorities; and (iv) enable participants to formulate reform agendas and implementation strategies. The course covers a wide range of structural reform areas, including the business environment, government finance, the financial sector, labor markets, external trade, digitalization, climate change and other non-financial sector areas. It also discusses political economy aspects and the sequencing of reforms. Participants will benefit from peer-to-peer exchange of expertise and the presentation of country case studies.
